Trigger Point Massage

Some ailments such as back pain, neck stiffness, bursitis, shin splints, carpal tunnel like symptoms, headaches, sciatica, frozen shoulder, low back stiffness, and even tennis elbow can be done by trigger point massage.

The largest organ of our body is muscle. It influences the longevity and quality of our lives. Along with muscle pain, our activities will decrease.

Trigger point massage is a type of massage therapy. These are basic of trigger point massage:

First you can lie down on the floor or sofa. Trigger points massage on neck and shoulders can be found by searching them with your fingers. While you press these areas you will find tense or tender area. After you find them you can start pressing the area gently and firmly until you feel different in pain then move on. Use your thumbs to press into the muscles. Explorer the areas with your fingers, you can begin behind the ears, move towards the spine. Take a deep breathing and focus to press and hold on the most sensitive or tense points until pain or tension release.

The next are back of the neck area. You can begin under the skull then going down to the shoulders. Select the spot that has the tensest places by rubbing across the muscles. Press and hold on opposite shoulder by crossing your arm over the chest. Do this until your pain release. Repeat this on another side.

Those way are the basic of trigger point massage that you can do anytime and anywhere. If you want full relaxation, you can ask your friend to do it to you.
