Massage Therapy License
If you tend to practice in specific state, then you must check that state to learn its requirements. All the states require completion of a formal education program and passing a state examination or the national certification examination for massage therapists even though the exact requirements to get a massage therapy license that varies from state to state.
The school you attend will advise you to the curriculum of its massage therapy program and it will give you options on classes and/or training in physiology, ethics, kinesiology, anatomy and hands-on massage techniques.
Try to get a license after the completion of your formal education, the state in which you will practice. It will either require that you pass a state massage therapy examination or the national examination, NCETMB (Nationally Certified in Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork) . Take additional courses. In states that licensed massage therapist required by ongoing education areas of the country, massage therapist are required to keep up with new techniques through approved education. These courses are called CEUs (Continuing Education Units) can now be taken online.
